Day, night, and cloud textures: Solar System Scope / INOVE, licensed under CC BY 4.0. Original 2K JPEG files are bundled here without alteration. The application reprojects and shades them, and combines the three layers.
Clouds are a static composite, and sunlight is simulated. This is an illustrative space view, not a live satellite feed or current weather map.
Country boundaries: World Atlas from Natural Earth, public-domain 1:110-million cartography. The bundled country dataset is a generalized reference map, not a current border-status service.
Projection: d3-geo-polygon, including Philippe Rivière’s implementation of Robert W. Gray’s Fuller equations. Vector layers use the analytic projection; space imagery uses a fixed tessellation of that projection. Globe views use an orthographic projection.
